Hard pass on it. No APU means it will have idled a lot. This means its def system is going to be pretty torn up and that thing will likely be a money pit. Not unless they have recipts showing VERY recent replacment of items like dosers, nox sensors and sootcans for example.
jason6541 and FreezingHot32 Thank this. -
Do you hear that sinking sound? That’s the price of used Volvo’s circling the drain. What might seem like a good price on a used truck is a waste of money on a Volvo. Check the prices of 10 and 12 year old Volvo’s.

or someone had an over sized day cab that got parked in their drive way every night…. Not that I’d buy a Volvo to begin withLast edited: Jul 1, 2021

I drove Volvo and never idled for more than 20 minutes and cleaned filter only once (because the drivers before me idled I think); sold 2015 780 recently with 508K and around 11K hours 500HP which I bought brand new and one major repair was recent turbo replacement at the dealer. Engine hours are high in your case but if you have after treatment repairs with receipts and 500HP engine it should be all good. Just take into account that if turbo was not replaced recently you might have to do it in the near future.

Perhaps but those are pretty high hours. My 580k 579 has 9300ish with its APU. 15K hours and less miles indicates a lot of idle. Could be wrong but better safe then sorry with a used emissions rig.FreezingHot32 Thanks this.

Preciate all the feedback!!!!Took it on a 30 mile test drive, got 2 after treatment codes and the def started pouring out as soon as I set the brakes. I ran!!!!!!! Wasting a good bit of traveling money flying out to SD. The dealer had the nerve of asking 47k
