Interesting indeed... I googled brown fat... It says that brown fat burns calories to generate heat... and it also says that levels of brown fat decrease as we become adults. Gosh, if I ever had some, now I may have absolutely nothing...

I read that exposing your body to cool and even cold temperatures may help recruit more brown fat cells.
One of the door men in this building said that he has been taking cold showers every morning and now he doesn't feel as cold as he used to... Hmmm... his body might be building some brown fat cells then...
Me... If I couldn't heat the water, I would rather go with no shower in the winter...

There's a "problem" with those folks then... what kind of northerners are they?

Sure there are many folks in South America that can endure temps below 20C with not much problem... But generally speaking, most people get used to the temps where they were born and raised, it's a matter of acclimatization. People's tolerance to temps also have to do with their body types. And I believe gens have something to do with that as well... and can't forget imbalances in the body...singlescrewshaker, dwells40, jamespmack and 5 others Thank this. -
And if you live with others, they are ok with those temps, right?singlescrewshaker, jamespmack, Gatordude and 2 others Thank this.

It’s easier to bundle up than to strip down.singlescrewshaker, shooter19802003, Lysdexis and 4 others Thank this.

Well... IMO that depends on how much one needs to strip down or bundle up to feel comfortable at home.
Me... I don't need to strip much but when temps drop to 70F I need two layers of clothes...
Now it may be around 62F in here and I am wearing one long sleeves shirt + two heavy sweaters and two layers of pants and two pairs of socks...
It feels a little uncomfortable but there's no other choice... there are no heating systems in the apartments in Brasil...
I heard that women - in general - feel colder than men....

Two heavy sweaters and one long sleeve shirt so not to feel cold... drinking my beverage of choice, almond milk with wild honey...
