Yes sevenmph That Is Correct.... I Called Him Out On It Too.... He Did Not Appreciate That... But The Rest Of My Class Loved It... Than I Hit Him With A Bunch Of Question's .... He Became Flustered And Angry And Would Not Answer Any....My Class Was Clapping To Add To It All ... And Said... Get Him Bill ... I Was Just Looking For Answers Being This Whole Business Is A Big Deal And Just Want To Make A Sound Choice As To The Company I Choose To Work For... I Said Did You Just Say .31 Cents Are You Kidding Me Sounds Like Wages From The 70's... Well He Didn't Like That...I'll Just Leave It At That. .We All Joked About It Over The Following Week...Stuff Like Hey Trans Am Really Wants You You Going To Go Get That .31 Cents Etc...We Had Fun With It... I Like To Joke A lot Always Making People Laugh In A Good Way.... But This Recruiter What A Joke ..

Thanks For Sharing Chinatown... She Seems Like A Real Fine Lady... Great Attitude !! Also Please Note I Was Throwing The Recruiter Under The Bus... NOT The Company... Never Did Research Them... They Did Email Me A Couple Of Times....One Of The Things He Said Is The Trailer Is Always Attached To The Truck So Home Time You Need Room For The Trailer As Well... I Have The Room.... But I Don't Want To Be Bringing A Trailer Home.....Just The Tractor.....Also Wasn't A Fan Of .31 Than Up To .36 In A Year... Thought It Was Too Low Verses What Other Company's Are Currently Paying These Days

I guess everyone knows I'm a Swifter! (I drive reefer, hence Swifter and not Swifty).
Anyway, I'm out West, so can't speak much for that area with Swift operations. I know here in the West they have treated me well, have not lied to me and given me no reason to want to go elsewhere and several to want to stay with them. As I have told others, Swift does kind of have a bad rep amongst drivers for some of the knuckleheads who end up with Swift. They generally don't last too long, but probably longer than they should. However, you can be a good driver with Swift, they actually prefer that!!! We have quite a few million mile and plus drivers running around.
For a starter company especially I think they are a good choice. They have a culture for newbies and lend good support when new, fresh and trying to figure it all out. At least that has been my experience. Since I've been with them they have been big on safety and have never given me anything but gracious acceptance and support when I've stopped for weather because I felt it unsafe for me to keep rolling, even when it made loads late. Also never had a problem getting mechanical repairs while on the road when needed. One phone call and they make needed arrangements.
As for pay, I get a couple extra cpm for doing reefer and a couple extra for being a Veteran. I'm well above 50 cents per mile and been there less than 2 years.
I have the name and number of a recruiter in Phoenix if you want. She worked with me and did me right. She'll probably gladly answer any questions you might have.
Regardless, congrats on getting your CDL and good luck wherever you go. Keep us posted on how it's going. This forum is awesome for getting insight and knowledge from others. Don't hesitate to ask!

Where would you leave a trailer?

If you’re still looking for a job you could try Rosedale. They’ll have you go with a trainer for 4-6 weeks then start out at .51 cpm. They’re a pretty laid back company and they’ve kept me moving since I started out with them.
