But the freight market is so hot right now. It wouldn't take long to pay for the extra cost of the trailer. I wonder what the rates will be this winter, when they traditionally go to crap.

Sell a bungalow in LA, buy a mansion in Texas, and retire on the money that's left over. Lots of people also move into California. As percent change of population, Cali ranks 27 out of 50. Highly unspectacular, and the exact opposite of droves.

Does anyone knows if brokers or shippers will complain about a side door in some Great Dane trailers . I found one for sale but it has a small door on the side

 

I used to pull a trailer with a side door, nobody said anything bad about it, some shippers put a seal on it, but other than that it was just fine.

 

How old can a trailer be? (not being OTR I don't know all the ins and outs)

I bought a '84 fruehauf for 1200 and put about 800 into it just for moving back east. If I were going to use it regularly it would need new plywood for the interior and a new door

The place I got it from had plenty of trailers. Some not so old, but all needed work
