Sometimes, telling the truth never hurts. I was driving my PV in Florida one day, coming home from vacation, and got stopped by FHP. Upon the traffic stop, he asked if I knew how fast I was going. I replied that I thought that i thought I was going in the upper 70s or lower 80s. He then stated that I was doing 83, and proceeded to ask me if I knew what the speed limit was. I answered in the affirmative, that I knew the speed limit was 55. After mulling this over in his head for a while, he decided to give me a break. I walked away with a warning!

Too bad you didn't slap some bracelets on this loser....
We don't need the likes of this driver on the highway....
I don't know about others...but my log book and my equipment have to be right on....My wife says I'm way too anal over them for my own good.....I friggin' sweat over a clearance lamp if it goes out...
In fact I carry extras....
I carry extra drive belts.....
I'd carry extra brake cans if I had room..... -
Aint he kin to Monty Hall?

Momma told me long ago, that you get more with honey than you do with vineger. Doesn't take any effort to be polite and courteous, so why not? Didn't get an overweight ticket one time that I deserved because of that and being honest. Least thats what I choose to believe!!!!

If you ever pull me over.... You will hear the following words. No explanations.
Yes Sir. Yes Sir. No Sir. Yes Sir. No Sir. Yes Sir. Yes Sir. Thank You Sir. Have A Great Night Sir. -
Monty Hall??? Now that's what I call "dating" yourself! That's like carbon dating aint it? I used to watch his show on TV during the day. Heck, I can remember when Bob Barker had BLACK hair!
Anyway, back on subject.
It's supertruckers like that guy that brought about this stupid a z z CSA 2010!
REPEAT, CHRONIC OFFENDERS THAT REALLY ARE UNSAFE AND DONT GIVE A #### IF THEY HURT OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE OR THEMSELVES JUST TO MAKE A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY HAVE NO BUSINESS IN A BIG TRUCK!!!
DB, I dont know if you are allowed to say, but I'll wager 2 dozen fresh Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts that this Billy Bigrigger had a laundry list of previous offenses, and is probably going to lose his saftey rating when CSA 2010 goes live anyway! It would surprise me if you found either drugs or alcohol in that truck either! It's a crime that that loser is the image that most people and alot of officers think of when they think of truckers. And we wonder why drivers cant get the PAY and RESPECT that we rightfully deserve. Maybe if we rid ourselves of the human trash that is littering our profession, we could get what we deserve! -
What REDD said! I live in fear of the ink pen a trooper carries not his gun!
And I remember when "The Price Is Right" was in black and white!

Before you let BillyBigrigger get under your skin, DB, let me tell you of an experience my husband and I had one night in Oregon....
We were heading down the 97, out in the middle of no-where on this stretch of 2 lane highway and were hearing on the CB about a SuperTrucker hogging the road... weaving everywhere, and southbound trucks were having to duck out this fools way..
It was snowing, dark, the road was covered in hardpacked snow, with banks of snow plowed up to being barely off the white line.. there was nowhere to really pull over.
We knew this fool was only a few miles up the road, and coming at us fast... other drivers estimated his speed to be 80-85mph... we had a good desciption of the truck.. and just about 4 miles up the road, we saw that truck pulled over at the side with Oregon Trooper reading this guy the riot act.
We pulled into a truck stop about 5 miles up the road, and found out from another driver that Billy Bigrigger had been escorted into a TS and a HeavyDuty Wrecker parked in front him..
That Oregon State Trooper probably saved my life and that of my husband that night, simply by stopping that man. If he had not been stopped, we would have had to duck him, like all the other had done.. but we had nowhere to go except into the snowbank that covered the ditch...
I couldn't ever find out which Oregon Trooper did it, so I never could thank him... so on behalf of those who you may have saved...
THANK YOU!!
You can consider yourself hugged! -
Check this #### out. I even thank them AFTER they give me a ticket! I wonder how often that happens.
