Wow, you really have no idea what you are talking about, then pension was not done away with. It is UPS's responsibility to administer the pension, nobody is losing anything. The pension will be replaced by something that is agreeable to all.mountains938, skinnytrucker, LtlAnonymous and 2 others Thank this.

I'm just telling you about the insurance. That's what the hiring manager told me. Plus I hope the keep something similar to a pension that would be awesomeLtlAnonymous Thanks this. -

For all teamster employees, healthcare and pension should be unchanged until 2023, barring any form of renegotiation by the company.
They purchased a union company. That stuff does not change without a serious renegotiation just because there is a new owner.De Trucker, jmz and Buffalonytrucker92 Thank this. -
So why do I have to pay for insurance? Was it free before? It would be awesome if it was free.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
Thanks for the tag.
I never worked for freight, but in the larger scheme of things, I think this could be a good thing for the company. Freight was used as a loss leader to attract more profitable customers down the road, basically.
I don’t know what the future will hold in 2023. UPS freight employees were paid a lot of money for the LTL sector, simply because the company wasn’t looking to make a profit from them. but the 2018 contract negotiations were almost inconceivable to me. Those guys got very little in the way of a raise. So by 2023, the rest of LTL could very well catch up to UPS freight rates, after five years of no contract rate increases. So maybe there WILL be raises?
At the end of the day, I think the days of UPS Freight leading the LTL sector in pay are over. But LTL pay is pretty good regardless, so it's not like you'll be eating ramen noodles and hot dogs unless you want to.
But one thing is for sure. They will still have their health and welfare. -
Insurance is usually free. So I would be surprised if you are paying for your insurance. I would want to see the paperwork and reasoning for that.Buffalonytrucker92 Thanks this.

Yes, everything was supposed to stay the same, At least through the end of the year. So if you are paying for your insurance, you should check to make sure that everyone who worked for your terminal prior to the purchase was also paying for their insurance, and is continuing to do so.Buffalonytrucker92 Thanks this.
