So this guy i work with tells me and everyone else that this is a legal way to strap and secure these super sacks on a stepdown deck? Myself and another driver say no...what say you??
Is this right or wrong?

that's how i strapped down a load of those wood pellets, when i worked at Lowes. i had to stop every once in a while as the pellets would settle, so i could retighten the straps.

Looks good to me, it's low & wide enough for it. As @beastr123 said though, 2 straps on the front & back bags. Also, this is a load that'll tend to settle, so strap check often....
Lostkeys, PoleCrusher, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this. -
For the most part it looks good.
There are two choices for the front and back.
2 straps over the top or do X straps across and over.PoleCrusher and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
Its legal as of a few years ago, id prefer being inside the rails myself, but a bunch of the spots in order to center, looks like the strap is right at a stake pocket, its just easier to do it that way for most guys especially when you leave straps on the reels.
As others said, 2 straps front and rear pallets thoughthomasweil, PoleCrusher, okiedokie and 1 other person Thank this. -
Two straps are required anywhere a piece of freight is nit directly touching a piece of freight or a proper headboard in front of it. The front row needs another strap to be legal, the back is perfectly legal with only on strap.
