Like usual - Supply and demand.

Hyperinflation was never present in the USA. It was about 15% per year at the period you stated. It was nowhere near hyperinflation - more like 50% price increases per month - which is defined by a total chaos of prices and wages to the point of people resorting to barter trade. For instance, in early 1980s Poland currency was useless to the point of people trading with cigarettes, sugar, gasoline and meat as alternate currency.MACK E-6 and slow.rider Thank this.

I just happen to gas my car up and I keep all my receipts for that as well and I found a gas receipt from 2019 where I paid $.83 a gallon less in 2019 that I am today…

I still remember the good ole days when diesel was ALWAYS cheaper than gasoline and pick up trucks were ALWAYS cheaper than a 4 door sedan.
MTN Boomer, bzinger, shanman and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's up about 90 cents nationally from this week last year. Some areas are up a dollar or more. Keeps trending up too.
bzinger Thanks this. -
After company fuel discount my fuel cost is .325cpm
BUT my fsc this week is .51cpm
So my net fuel cost is ZERO and I'm paid $112 to put fuel in the truck per day...
Love higher fuel prices..... -
I raise my rates accordingly. Bring it on.
-
Fuel prices go up, people spend more on fuel, and have less money to buy junk. Less junk bought, means less loads, means excess of trucks, means lower rates. What do you think will happen if all those Amazon flex idiots suddenly lose their loads? Crashing rates.bzinger, Midwest Trucker, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this.

Then I'll park the truck then. As of now, I'm doing great and will continue to raise my rates accordingly.
