Me personally, I think the government would be doing the general motoring public a favor to mandate and/or regulate heavy truck dispatchers.Or atleast make it a law that companys must do so. Yall know good and #### well that there have been many of accidents that could have been avoided if it werent for rotten dispatchers. I said rotten cuz there r so many "exclamities" that can be said of some of the dispatchers in this industry. Dont know if thats a word or not but like I have said before, it really isnt the dispatchers fault because bottom line, people will be people. It is the companys that are at fault for letting their antics go on and rewarding them with bonuses among other things.--- just my opinion...lol:biggrin_25524: ....Thhhen again, some of them are just ####y,pencil d1k aholes who hide behind their keyboard and would have a real quick change of attitude if spoken to in person. What I think tho, mmost of the time, not all the time. The ones that are pricks, donot like their job and/or are stuggeling at it cuz they dont know what they are doing and shouldnt even be behind that keyboard in the first place. Not fair to the drivers. I dont know how many of you that work for a large company have ever been in a dispatch office, but if you ever go into one, there will be the dispatchers that are sittin there glued to the screen(actually workking/running their drivers/lookin for possible preassigns and what not) and there will be the ones not doin a #### thing, basically just sittin there doin next to squat waitin to punch the clock. Those are the ones who should be losin their jobs, not drivers..again, just my opinion :D plus, you dont work in the office so you dont have "office buddies" and what you do is out weighed by office politics. People often call us proffesional drivers only so they can lay blame, cuz after all we're supposed to be professionals and should know better/should be able to drive anything, arent allowed to make mistakes. Why dont they invent a fkn professional dispatcher for gdsake.
Dptchrs are cowards that are better at fkn u then u can ## them for they are far more experienced at it and do it to ppl on a daily basis. Maybe thats just the "nature of the beast" ..i dunno, but from my experience thats what I know. p.s. Does anyone else think ppl use this forum for the most part, not to read but only to post when they have something to vent? lol:biggrin_25524:

Go and look at my post that I made yesterday, 12-17-09, they are a tightwad company. They offer short runs, low miles, lots of sitting, no APU's, but you better not idle that truck. Look under Report a Bad Company.

Schneider is a cheap tightwad company. Ed Neil was a horrible dispatcher there on a Dedicated account out of Albany,GA 2 yrs ago. That SOB promised we'd get new trailers every month as the old ones we had, tandems were broken or wouldn't slide. He would also promise every month for 6 months that a raise was coming, but nearly every Driver on the Dedicated account was only making 24 or 26 cents per mile !!The raises never came so I left after 6 months as a lot of other Drivers did....and they didn't care. They kept taking advantage of the Drivers and the revolving door kept churning through Drivers !!

--And all the while laughing at you guys behind your back im sure. Yep, the gov would do this industry some good to quit funding these companys via taxbreak to train new recruits. All they do for the most part is make cuts to hire more,or hire and make cuts, what have u.. These trkn companies have no regard for people or their rights. And how these dptchrs for these training companies have accustomed themselves to treating drivers is awful. Is like they think they are a diff class of ppl to drivers or something?:smt029 I wonder what kinda sayings/nicknames go around those dptch offices about drvrs just to make what they do seem morally justifiable to themselves. Makes me sick these ppl. Im sorry, I know only god can judge and I think the job molds them to be the way they are but I think dptchrs are a scum of the earth. Snooty, arrogant, power trippin priks most of em are:biggrin_25513:

I know from experience , I had a good dispatcher when I worked at werner as far as her ability, bein able to keep you movin and settin up preassigns (was gettin around 14000mi a month solo, and give credit when is due.)She also got me home ontime, everytime. But she was one of the most snooty self absorbed :smt061 I had ever known when it came to the way she thought of drivers. She gave you the miles but if you made one little mistake she would scald you,and it wouldnt take her long to find out neither. I ended up havin a prety good relationship with her after a while tho but she was crazy to say the least, good woman I think, just was a baracuda:smt093..I felt bad for the drivers on her badside for sure..lol. Anyways, you could tell tho, her attitude and way she thought of drivers was one of the same that many shared as some things she had said to me when I first started on her board and was "breaking me in" were those that were said of routine it seemed. --if that makes sense ..?? Its like I heard this guy say on the cb once, "Dispatchers? Dispatchers just make me mad!" Ok im goin into a rant :confused5: so ima put a cap on this one

Well it is good that you posted a list of companies that read this forum and I'm happy that I found this board.
I have worked for Marten and can't really say anything bad about them accept that I had to leave when I moved to FL...it is a dead zone for 90% of trucking companies and when I moved back to IN I found out that they no longer have a an O/O programm... that suck. But in a mean time I have worked for few companies that I will be able to mention here... Walbon & Co. out of Rosemount,MN is a pretty good company if you like pulling reefers you get miles but there down side is a lack of planning (you don't know what you doing until you empty and sometimes you don't get a load same day) Also Sunco carriers. Good company but there major account in FL has been almost fully taken over by Prime so not a lot of loads and they used to not have any company trucks but now they got plenty of them.
Also I have a question....how do the companies know who posting what?

No disrespect meant on this reply but a firewall will not protect you from someone knowing who you are online, a firewall is just that, it stops things you don't want from coming in on your computer and it stops things from going out on your computer, and the best free one out there is zone alarm.

Your IP address is what will nail you, everyone of us has one, without it there is no way we could browse the web, the pages we view need to know which address to send the page to for us to see, hence the IP address your internet service provider gave you when you joined. Just compare it to the postal service, to get your mail you need an address, a gate (firewall) installed across your driveway to your house will not stop the letters coming to your house or cancel the mail.

The exact time & date are logged at the servers that you were online, granted they are not easy to access but everywhere you surf is recorded, everything you download is recorded, it has to be because it must go thru the servers to get to you, so unless you use a laptop with no traces of anything to do with your real life on it, and use a free WIFI point to access the net, you can't hide, they can find you no matter how clean your PC is, if you access this or any site from home you can't hide, even using a proxy server that hides your IP addy, the proxy server still has to have your IP addy to send you the web pages, so they know where you are.

If you wish to post anything bad about a company on any site, get a cheap laptop, don't use it for anything personal, e-mails, bills, etc., keep it clean, then when you post under a name that you never ever access under your true home computer, only under that laptop, find a WiFi hot spot and go for it, a lot of trouble just to complain but I guess sometimes worth it:) This is about the only way to be able to browse the web that will lead the snooper to a dead end:) Hope this helps others and clears things up, just remember your never safe and ID free when surfing the web:)

With all do respect, we're talking about trucking company management in this thread - not the FBI, NSA, or CIA.

And if you log in by wifi, the ip changes with every node, it would take a court order and a whole lot of money to get more than that, from an isp, or cell provider.

Just keep the comments civil and don't post any personal identifiers, and you will be ok.

With all do respect also I was responding to the gentleman who was mentioning keeping his firewall updated so as not to be discovered while posting, it was not meant as a knock or anything negative, it was my way of helping the others on this forum. I don't post anything negative on forums, I figure if you don't have anything good to say then don't, that is my motto, and I don't want to send this thread off track responding to IP changes your talking about.

I agree on your last post: "Just keep the comments civil and don't post any personal identifiers, and you will be ok." That sounds good to me:) And I apologize to others if it seemed I took this thread off it's trail, I didn't intend to do that.
