    Never confuse "the news" for reality.

    In the Pacific & Intermountain Northwest most businesses have help wanted signs posted. I haven't been up here long enough to compare pre-hysteria wages to today.

    Seems to be the issue here. Guy I know applied 3 weeks ago with a small company. They
    only have 25 or 30 employees.......according to their website they had 6 openings. He was
    qualified for 3 of the spots. He finally called them "again" and now they are saying that they
    are to busy.......be ANOTHER 2 or 3 weeks before they will even look at the applications.


    Except now their website shows 9 openings.......friend is qualified for 4 of them. He just
    needs a job.......be willing to do any of the 4 jobs. But "supposedly" they don't even have time
    to look at any of the applications.


    Does this company actually expect him to wait another 3 weeks.....6 weeks total......before
    they even allow him an interview?.. They are refusing to even talk about what any of the jobs
    might pay......."that will be discussed" in the interview.

    Truck service center. Includes several parts counter spots, mechanic positions, I think there
    is one Class A CDL route driver spot.

    He has driving experience but is trying to find a stay-at-home job that is still in the
    truck industry. I think it could be a good fit for him....... if the company could ever figure out
    what they want to do.

    ####, if those UPS jobs are not team driving jobs I might say #### it and buy out of my apartment lease and move there. It's one of the few places I'd move to if that's what it takes to get a job with that big a pay increase from my current job.

    Contact UPS and ask. Might luck out. Many of the jobs here are warehouse jobs because the company is growing and that means they need more drivers.
    ~
    R&L Carriers is also hiring in Las Vegas for line haul drivers.
