Good deal?

If the tires, shoes and drums all have decent life left I would check the hangers and the areas above them for cracks, the upper coupler/king pin aren't trashed and if it's not a rust bucket the price is fair considering today's trailer market.

 

For a 48 foot Transcraft that old that's definitely not a steal, though it may about the best you could hope for in the current market.

 

Up here in the northeast and all the stuff they treat the roads with I would check all the crossmembers underneath, especially a transcraft trailer.The crossmembers gather all the road salt and rarely clean out. causing them to rot out. Ive owned a couple, put crossmembers in 1 of them(what a PITA) swore I would never do it again and dumped the second one with rotten crossmembers to an exporter.heading to guatemala.

 

Also food for thought that trailer has been listed on craigslist up there for over a year at least off and on

 

What are the hours on the reefer?

 

Its over priced, for having almost 24k hours. I wouldn't pay more than $9000
