That outright sucks.. that’s got to be the worst Hometime policy I’ve seen of any carrier even worse than many of the Megas… not even a day off or every week you’re out wow

Here’s the message from one of my DM’s. Sounds like it’s out of his control but makes me kind of ticked off at upper management. If you have guys like me that like to stay out six weeks and work your ### off. Shouldn’t you be able to get a little more time off? I mean I’m not asking for 7-10 days here for gods sake 5 days and I’ll be good for another 5-6 weeks. Rant over I have mixed emotions. 3 days go by in a blur

Not gonna lie, i was burned by that too. Was staying out 3 weeks consistently and coming home for 3 days for a couple months before eventually they hit me with the policy. That’s why i only stay out the 11-14 days now. I hope they work with you without you having to threaten to quit or anything. I got the Moberly potato run which I figured i would get coming off home time on a Friday. Sounds like i’ll be picking up coca cola on Monday.bryan21384 and mdmgolfin Thank this.

I’m not threatening to quit. I was just disappointed and a little ticked when I got that message. I’ve calmed down now. Worse things to be upset about anyway.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

I’m also preplanned after delivering to new century picking up there and headed to Chicago. But it doesn’t deliver until Wednesday. So I’ll probably drop itLumper Humper Thanks this.

Well....I've actually stayed home for 4 days before. Given it was a round Christmas time. I've seen other drivers get a week off, but it seems like that happens when freight slows...cuz talking to the guys that got the week off, I remember it being in the winter months. If they are giving you hell about home time, it may be an indicator that freight is at a high volume. I'm only speculating though.Lumper Humper and mdmgolfin Thank this.

It depends on your fleet manager I think. I know of one driver that takes 4 days off every time she goes home. In fact, she's at home now lol.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

It always does regardless of industry. 9 times out of 10, you want the good money, you gotta give up the normal life. You want the normal life, you gotta give up the money.....AMUUUURRRICA!Lumper Humper and mdmgolfin Thank this.
