Yep , and they take the profit and buy new trucks every year , you mostly are not in trucks more than 4 yrs old .
Breakdown cost time n time is money .
I was with Jevic transportation for the last 7 yrs they were in business, forced dispatch great pay. You got paid for everything but not your miles home. Money was fantastic until they closed their doors.
So we worry about 26,000 a year and demand we get that money and every other penny owed until they close their doors .
We won now didn't we ?

I appreciate the logic to your point, and so do the companies.

Thats not bad for an OTR outfit . But that 5.5hrs you spent making $100 would of paid me $210 as a local driver because I assume you have to give them a couple hrs unpaid?
Pohl is fair? The avg OTR driver would need to be making over $96,000 per yr to avg the buying power of a driver who started before deregulation . If you started in 1987 you would need to be making over $80,000. Is Pohl or anyone else paying drivers with 1yr experience 80K?

Very few drivers legitimately make over 80k a year . Here's the think about companies paying so well most of their force tops 80k ... they tend to go out of business unless you drive for a private carrier .
Competition spells out why. Low balling is trucking worst enemy.

Well not always the way it is , shiester companies do business with shiester companies, and the turds always seem to land in a driver's lap . I was with Poly and got paid over 400.00 bucks for a 26 hr delay because they was all screwed up , this just happened to be a great big company can't remember name of it in Ohio . SIDNEY AREA I think . Think is , is this company paid it's detention by the rules not by shiester rules .
And poly takes no detention, driver gets it all. However , Poly maintence makes the revolving door travel at 100rpm . No bull !

If life was fair Driver we'd all vote as the house of representatives does annually to give ourselves a 4 to 6 % Cost of living Increase.
Pohl is fair driver , are they Walmart ?
    No
Are they UPS or any other 710 0r 705 teamsters union run company? No
They're a 125 truck operation managing to stay afloat .
They tell ya they get ya home every weekend if you're in certain areas and then do a tremendous job of doing so. Pay you miles the way the crow flies home. And manages to treat ya pretty well about 97% of the time.
When you find the perfect company for everyone do let me know ok ?

Vic Firth and Lonesome Thank this.
