Have you already forgotten the kinda of miles I pulled OTR? Thats not just me, that's kinda how my company operates. I did tend to be one of the guys to turn miles the quickest, but most all of us OTR guys got about the same miles... Some just might take a day or 2 longer to do it.
So local is pretty much the same way... We hustle. I'm not sure how many local drivers we have but I know they all hustle. And its very fast paced work... Once your empty, make a 1 min phone call to confirm next dispatch and then hammer down. How many local guys have you heard of that cover as many miles as the average OTR guys??? I turned 2641 miles in 6 days of local work... And 2 of those days were 8 hours or less.
I'm really liking this local stuff so far... Even though its really long days they dont seem long, the work is just to fast paced to realize how long youve been going. Its about the last 4 hours of the day that get a little tense... Trying to squeeze everything you can out of every minute to make it possible to end at home. 3 of my 6 days I ended with less than 5 mins on my either my 14 or 11 clocks.
What if it Snows?

As long as I have access to a bullracks, A-Train hoppers, RNGs, and A-Train flats... Im pretty sure I could keep 2 of us busy year round... But the miles might only be 50% on asphalt and concrete, the other 50% could be anything from solid gravel to 8" of mud requiring the hanging of full iron... Any takers???
And I'm pretty sure either @D.Tibbitt or myself are the youngest...Dale thompson, lovesthedrive, LoSt_AgAiN and 4 others Thank this. -

I'm sure the OM would do just fine... As long as she didnt have to load or unload the bullracks. I'm sure we could write up an exemption for the OM from cattle work. LolDale thompson, Wasted Thyme, lovesthedrive and 7 others Thank this.

Did you ever do spuds? Chained up more than once to get out the field, or the "creek" getting there. 1000 circles used to be horrible (horse heavens) "creek" over the hub and you better keep it moving otherwise you're f'd
