What if cruise was working before replacing air manifold? Any ideas?

Maybe you have the wires hooked up wrong. Mine has 2 switches, one is Low air, controls dash light and buzzer, other one is brake switch. Controls brake lights from pedal and hand brake.

Mine has a separate special connector for the brake lights instead of the single female pins. When parking brake is set it will idle up and immediately drop to normal once parking brake is released. Jake brakes work just fine as well . It would be nice if freightliner would actually tell me what wire goes where . Each black female connector has a number stamped on it. If I had a diagram of the number to sensor correlation would be great

It may not matter which way each wire goes on each terminal. As long as the right 2 wires are on the right switch. Maybe follow wires, looking for zip ties holding 2 together, to identify a pair. Low air switch is normally closed, opens at 65 psi. Turns low air light and buzzer off, Brake switch is normally open, hit brakes, closes at 5psi turns brake lights on. I’m not certain, but think it doesn’t matter which terminals wires go to, as long as they’re the correct 2 for each switch.

That's what I did. I kept in each separate group from original electrical type tape and put them on each sensor . I just don't understand why cruise isn't working now. I thought it was the on/off switch or the actual resume/set switch but it idles up when parking brake is set so idk now

I don’t know either. Friend of mine has same problem. Went to change the switch on manifold. broke the manifold, changed it. Still no cruise. Has fast idle. He’s got a speed sensor on the bell housing, up on top. Plans on changing it. Let Me know if you figure yours out. I’ll do same. Won’t be till weekend at earliest

Mine did just that, turned out to be 2 Nd speed sensor on tailshaft of my 13 spd. He has 10 spd. Apparently Dealer showed him a diagram of 2nd speed sensor up top of trans. Very hard to acess. Tried through shift boot. No go.

I'll try your idea bc im out of ideas on my end bc my speedo still works and everything is good on air manifold. If it fixes it I'll definitely let you kno . I have a 10 speed as well

My speedo had gone out, along with my Odometer. I replaced the sensor, as usual. Speedo came back, odometer never did. Went with out cruise for almost 2 yrs. It would idle up, when parked. Just by a fluke, I noticed the 2 Nd speed sensor. Replaced it, cruise came back. The usual culprits are switch, plunger type safety switch on clutch, though when it’s bad, jakes also go out. Check with Dealer, per vin #, see if you have a second speed sensor. If so, ask for a print out of the computer screen diagram, if it’s accurate, for location on the Trans. Ask a mechanic, while there, they’re often more than happy to help. Not saying that’s the problem, just what I’ve seen with my 2000, 13spd.

Well like I said I'm out of ideas. Brake sensor and clutch sensor both work fine. Though hitting the brake don't cut the high idle off only when I release service brake so I have a feeling it's a different sensor so it's possible about the 2nd sensor
