@Flint1 mind if I pick your brain? My old man has an LQ4 6.0L and he said it started missing while under load the other day. Says it idles fine and seems to run ok under light throttle. Says it got pretty bad while bringing the boat back from the lake though.

I'm wondering if its a knock sensor issue, retarding the timing? He just has a basic code reader and he couldn't see any active or stored faults. I think he's going to pull the plugs out and see if there's a dead hole.

Last time it had coils and plugs? Coils can break down under load but run fine under light loads

 

I think he did plugs and wires about 50k kilometers ago. Coils are all original from 19 years ago, as are the injectors. Intake manifold gaskets were done a couple years ago too.

 

How many k total? I'd put hard earned doll hairs on it being at least one coil breaking down. At 19 years old I'd replace them all.

 

I think he said its sitting at around 190k km. About 120k miles.

 

Getting some double coins put on the trailer. 3rd set of trailer tires in 2 years. Those crappy brisgestones my company buys last 6 months. I got them put on in december last year. already down to 4/32nd of tread.

 

You need to get on your legislature. Constitutional carry! Only thing the card is good for here is instant gun buy. So you don't have to wait the 15min for the nics check and reciprocity.
