####.
I don't know about heat/fuel causing that.It seems like something else might be going on there. Did you bend the oil return tube to fit or use an E model flexible hose?
Was that BW or a knock off? Sucks either way.
I have no recommendations.

I was in there yesterday afternoon They are gonna call their turbo outlet and see about having a turbo built....
Here's the full disclosure on this truck.. I bought this truck with a bad turbo it had a A/R .95 ACD turbo on it that the bearings were shot .. the tard I bought it from was a blow hard that I didn't belive 80% of what rolled out of his pie hole.. But is a straight corrosion & rust free truck that has the right components to build what I what.. anyhow he kept blowing about how strong this motor was ..figured he was full of it .. I did samples of all the fluids everything came back good.so I threw this BW 177148 on on it and pulled a couple loads this is the result .. I know nothing about whats been done to the pump just know it was OH by a Cat shop in Salt Lake in 16 and has 105k on the OHLast edited by a moderator: Jul 15, 2021

I don't know much but one thing I have learned over the years is that whatever performance/upgrade parts you install need to match well with the rest of the build. A big turbo is useless without the fuel to match and high flowing nozzles are pointless without more air.

What egts and boost were running through that cracked up 177148

I came across a speed shop ad on eBay for this turbo, I think they were in Iowa but I can’t find it now. It sounds like it takes up the space between a 177148 and the 1.32 stage one bw but would probably overspeed easily and I don’t know where they source their parts.

It takes sustained 1300*+ to start to make cast glow.
Borg likely wouldn’t cover it no matter the charger though, the are on par with most OEMs with trying to get out of warranty.
Who did you purchase that thru? -
