I'm only seeing 1 question on this so here's another one. What is the penalty for driving with an expired cab card. Mine expired 6 months ago and honestly I never think about permits and such so there it is. I asked my company but they have no clue about it so they told me to call in the morning when my DM gets in. They said with the zonar tablet it should be on the system but honestly that just sounds flat out wrong.

If you get caught on the highway, you could be towed to an impound lot.
At a scale they’ll park you until the renewal is complete.
Should be a hefty fine. Missing by a few days is one thing, but six months is negligence.

It should be part of your pre-trip, checking all your paperwork. Now, I will be perfectly honest, I don’t check the tractor book everyday, if I am in my assigned truck, if I have a different one, then I always check all permits.

Is the truck registered and just never got the current card, or is it all expired? Huge difference, all though 6 months should of been more then enough to get you the paper

A driver from co. we were leased on to got caught in FLA. with cab card expired and he had to buy a new IRP tag from fla. for about 1700$$ bucks plus the fines had to be payed, when same tag with so. states on it cost 1250$ in ga. and they would not let truck leave scale house parking lot, Another driver had to bring a co. CK. down from ATL. to get it payed for with the tic. in hand even if he did not live in fla. then he had to pay back the co. on the payment plan !

No he was from Mn. and was told that was the only way he was leaving the sunny state of FLA. and this was the 2ed time he was caught in one day, he was tic. at the 1st scale on I-75 and when they closed to all go to the N. scales on I-75 and he drove off on a OOS tic. and got stoped at the S. of I-10 scales again and it cost him a lot of money to get all the stuff paid, the product was loaded on his flatbed and he refused to let anyone pull his trailer to S. port past the alligator alley where it came back to I-95 ?
