That's the worst advise for running a business....if your just wanting to maintain your existence that's fine.
If your not willing to stick your neck out you will never even keep up with inflation. I have three loans right know..... because I can make easy double what they are charging to carry it.

You don't have to like the game or the players but standing on the sidelines will put you in the soup kitchens.

I need to sell this trailer....

It's depreciated out so I get to figure out how to get rid of that money plus my normal right offs.

    Just part of business.

I could pay off my loans and just keep it and go hide in a corner and be just fine. But that's not how you get ahead in life.

I know good and well inflation is beating me right now but standing on the sidelines watching sure ain't gonna get you any closer.

James invested in real estate long ago and has watched it grow.... it's pretty much always a smart move.....they ain't making no more land other than dubie(sp?). That was just crazy what they've done.

Actually it kinda depends on your Interpretation. It appears you have tapered your life. Just because you have various tools/equipment for running your business doesn't mean you're not tapered. Rewrite it as focused and there you have it. It only suggests that a random scattershot approach with money or energy or whatever is usually not the path to really succeeding in something.
I'm not suggesting that those 2 phrases are the basis of Business 101. Loans are sometimes helpful and not always exactly an increase in debt, but nobody would advocate having excessive (rampant) debt. Optimal levels of lean-flush cash flow depend on a little more than phrases lol....
I still stand by the statement that the more financial and asset weight you have the harder it is to 'move'
And if you have the business that doesn't need to adjust much to changing circumstances then guess what? You WON!! until you get sick, or you die, or you want to retire or..or..or..
    Does that track?

That is correct and I agree with you. I'm just limiting myself right now. When this crashes, if it does. Ill buy more. Just paused right now.

    No risk, no reward.

I've long said, owe no one and not be dependent on anyone for anything. In my world, the power grid is a luxury, not a necessity. We've lived and worked among the Amish for so long now that if it's gone it's not a problem, PITA yes, but not necessary. Most all of our food is raised and processed right here. SHTF, well, we'd get by. Biggest problem would be dealing with those that couldn't get by...

2nd thoughts. It wasn't stated as a value judgment. Just because someone dies with a full set of tools, toys, misc business stuff...that gets settled in probate...isn't saying it's wrong. Or pointless. Living the life you want is exactly the point. 1 persons anchor is another person's ball and chain. No value statement Intended in that.
    Dubai. Yes!!!!! Wow

This is humorous only. Cause I'm a cheap prick. I'm putting brakes on my 1997 Ford and oil change. Why, I dont trust anyone and dont know anyone to do a better job. That's how cheap I am.

I knew this was mistake to respond to one of your posts. If you knew anything about business you wouldn't be living in a truck you don't own.

No disrespect for the company drivers here but if your gonna try and tell business owners how to run their business you need to walk in their shows first.

I've built two suçcessful businesses on my own. If you don't want to believe me or take my advice it won't affect the amount of sleep I get tonight what so ever
