I'd run the heck outta that Shaker..
But my wheelhouse is the ~$10k truck market.. lol

The problem is I can't see myself spending $35k on a truck.. I'd like to get into a tandem, preferably a mid '90's FLB at some point, but I've had a good run with this $8k Bucket.

I'm actually probably gonna go look at a sub $10k anteater in the Miami area when I get home. Here's the kicker, it a '93 also with the same 11.1 I've already got..

With the market the way it is right now, I would be hesitant of a <$30k truck. If I seen a truck for less than that, my first thought would be.....what's broken. Prices are crazy now......on everything. I might buy another, but now isn't the time for me. Let us know how the hunt goes. Are you not doing well with yours.....or do you just want something else? Hey, then you are going to have to change your name. Then, you will be just another statistic.

In all honesty I've never done better.! Had all my best weeks this year. But I've also changed up my operating strategy a bit. The real issue I have, is lack of availability..

Monday I started looking at the board & had 12 garbage loads to pick from at 28,500lbs or less. 262 going up to 48k lbs load weight.. I did end up coming out for $3500, which is really good for outbound Florida, but on Wednesday, so it blew the week..

Thinking of bumping my GVW from 54,999 to ~70k lb come August when my IRP is due. That'd give me 43k lbs+ on deck, but they will need to be specific loads so as not to overload the drive axle..

When the bottom inevitably drops out, open deck seems to get hit hard, especially so as a lightweight. My theory is, with a tandem tractor I can hook onto a hopper, tanker, or even the dreaded boxy wagons.. They were killing it during the scamdemic, I was parked at the home 20. Long winded way of saying I'd like the option to be there..

Also might just stick with Buck.? Turn the key & she's off & rolling every morning. Alot to be said for that.. Slap a 13sp, mild tune & an old cutoff that is sitting in the weeds & call it good.. Who knows..?

 

I had a buddy running refer during the scamdemic and he was killing it. Making stupid money. I understand the options thing and can't blame you there. Good luck with the quest brother. Let us know how it goes.
