So what's starting pay at your company then? 5 years is a long time.

If I ever left Landstar, figure I'd pull a gas can. Maybe pneumatics.
I don't like driving fast though.

My father who wasnt a great dad but an excellent father beat it into my head (not physically) that the definition of integrity is follow through.

Or in his words and a pithy quote: "integrity is doing exactly what you said you would or more"

Every other Sunday leaving out and every other Monday morning early. Always 48 hrs off though.

Im not advertising on TTR for drivers, just showing the real world struggle to find them. Brand new trucks and trailers, home every weekend, $1500 per week guarantee, .60 per mile after that. Paid holidays immediately, 3 weeks vacation first year, etc etc.

That’s for Haz/Tanker endorsed dry and reefer. No actual tanker.

Like I mentioned above though, I’m trying out 70 cent and $1750/wk guarantee. No luck yet as likes been mentioned, people think it’s not real. Heck, if I lowered to 55 cents I’d probably get more calls!

Edit: I agree though, pay should be 100k minimum but it’s getting not far off! Long overdo but companies can only raise pay as rates allow. And it’s impossible to lower pay once you’ve raised it. That slows everything down.

I wasn’t referring to you, the pay reflects reality. Just a General statement. I’ve done everything possible to make more money over the years. I couldn’t pay a Driver enough to make it attractive. Everyone should get the most they can from any Market. Supply and Demand will push up Rates. Current example is proof. I’m all for higher wages. Mainly because I can charge a higher rate myself. It’s all relevant. Reminds Me of the Ford Supervisor who told Me he hopes the Union does well on the new Contract. Because they have to pay him more than the hourly Workers. As far as Driving up inflation goes. Truckload rates are so low. Broken down by the pound or piece of freight. it’s hardly an argument. With LTL, and UPS, Fed Ex charging higher prices, Truckloads a different Beast. Constantly revolving door of Companies. Normally a Service priced as a Commodity. Nice to see it viewed more as a Service right now. I admit wish I had a paid off Fleet of 10 or more right about now. I’d sell every one of them, and retire early.

I can tell you that that ad would turn me off just based on they way the fudge the math

Averaging pay of 1100 to 1400 a week does not at all work out to 70k a year average.
Do they think we wont check the math?

    That is true.
Bulkmatic near me runs that add for a rolling 4 on 4 off schedule.
    70k... 1100 to 1400...

Only the 1400 comes to 72k

    1100 at 57200....

This is why I've grown very fond of day rate pay... I know my salary.

    Truck breaks down... I'm paid
Receiver holds me 10 hours, I'm paid.
Plant line takes a dump... im paid
A 65 mile load that takes all day...
    I'm paid.
As an employee... I should not have to take the risk off the owner
    On things I cannot control.

No if bulkmatic simply said 4 x 4 for 1400 a week... I'd call them
    It'd be a pay cut..
    Balanced by better life balance.
Work an extra day during a 4 off cycle ... my choice...and I'd be close enough to current 5 day pay

Yep, $62,500 for 50 weeks, even I can figure that one. Had to take one shoe off, but I did it.

For that $1200 a week, that driver is bouncing on that day can 60-70 hours a week... that isn't real money...

I'm in it just for the money. And I'm very happy with the money. Tuck it all away, max out all the retirement/tax efficient accounts. Make the money work for you while driving. Actually found I don't mind driving but can think of far better things to do, like fishing.
