    I didn't realize you could permit overweight. I just figured that setup with the skinny steer tires would have been good for a total of 39,500 kg. I figured the machine itself with the buckets probably tares in at around 23,000 to 24,000 kg.

    I've pulled a 210 deere on that setup...was legal.

    you're not far off, I can scale right around 50,000 lbs on my setup without a permit. Can't get axle overweight permits in the spring, or ban period they call it...max group weights are 17,000kg on tandem and 24,000kg on tri. then they go to post ban at 19,000 and 26,000, summer period (now) at 21,000 and 27,000, then to fall period at 23,000 and tri stays the same at 27,000. then winter when you can get 25,000 on the 8 wheel group. On 16 wheel groups in winter you can go up to 37,000kg. (28, 30, 32, 34, and 37,000 in winter)

    We just went up the north fork yesterday. Got a forestry cabin for the night. The kids love those things.
