I have a friend who has a PTO/wet kit on his Freightliner and he's not in construction anymore. I want to buy it from him or I can go install one myself for $4800 from a reputable shop. Do you think I would save money if I buy my friend's or would it the same price if I just go get a new one installed? My friend is willing to sell me his for $2500. I don't know how hard it is to pull one off a truck so any advice would be appreciated.
How much to transfer a wet kit from one truck to another?

$2500 used is not that bad and labor on mine was only $1200 according to my paperwork...YMMV though.JohnSmith69 and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Yeah, Fleetpride and Truck Pro around here sell a standard kit with a drum of oil for around 3k. Obviously pump variances could increase cost.
I know there's a Fleetpride in Montrose. Might be worth looking into.JohnSmith69 Thanks this. -
pump the oil out in a drum istall the pump your self put the oil back in save all kinds of money

Depends if the PTO he's running matches the application you need it for. If its suitable I'd do it.
Really not hard to install. Just so long as your transmission is setup to power a PTO. If not it just got super $$$$$$$.spsauerland and JohnSmith69 Thank this.
