Well, if you’re paid a competitive wage to start with, it’s not so bad. Would you rather make 53cpm for four years or 50cpm +1cpm every year. It’s not chemical grade, but it’s a place that pays decent for a few years to get the experience you need for some other companies that run real hazmat.

Overall I get paid fair for what I do, and I’ve been treated better here than a few other companies I’ve worked for. I’ll take a couple cpm less than I could be making doing the same thing to not hate my life.

Bud A., Redtwin and Lonesome Thank this.

i agree indian river transport is great for tanker experience.

i dont understand why there is no .01 mile increase every year. most of the mega company even have .01 every year

Most of the Megas also pay in the 30s-40s, and cap before 50, if I worked harder I’d want more money. Different strokes for different folks but I don’t know many easy job companies that pay significantly more anyway.

I’d like to hear what alternatives you’re looking at that seem like a better deal for the same job, because everyone likes more money, assuming you get treated well there.

Plenty of reasons to stay with one company. I didn't say they have never had a pay increase, I said there isn't an annual increase. I got an increase in my first year here but as I understand it was an across the board increase for all drivers.

I took you question to mean is there a pay increase every year. I don't believe that happens based on other drivers I have spoken to.

So start at 50 CPM and after 25 years you're getting 75 CPM?.

I don't know where that exists in this industry.

Head over to the tanker sub forum and ask what each segment is paying every year. I have done my own research and as far as I can tell you need to be hauling hazmat and pumping your own loads to make more than $85k.

If I can make that without ever having to touch a hose or deal with lethal chemicals then I can live with that compromise.

If a company is already offering the same pay as their competition, why would they want to offer more?.
Instead they play the sign on bonus/we have prettier trucks game.
