I’m considering leaving a LTL linehaul Job simply because I’m bored with it and want more home time. Home time is paramount to me and the only reason I’m really interested in Walmart is the programs they had. Do they still offer the 4 on 4 off or 5 on 5 off? If so how long does it take to get on one of these ? Im really not liking the sounds of all the micro management but what company doesn’t these days. I figure I can bear it for half the time I do now.

it could take you awhile to get a part time spot. plus you wont get bennies for the whole family on part time. this is the best job and i mean the very best job for a current otr driver. if your wanting all that home time and freedom. dont apply. you will just tie up a spot for someone that really wants to work here from the otr world.

I was under the impression that those were still considered full time positions, At least they used to be. So no benefits for the 4/4 and 5/5’s? I know they used to be considered full time back several years ago before they pulled that stunt back in 2018. I am home every other day now and off weekends, I do 6 nights one week and 4 the next, I just would like to have 4 or 5 consecutive days off regularly and still have full benefits. I may be asking for a lot but they indeed used to offer that but I understand that ship may have sailed.

2 weeks a month is plenty driver. I’m trying to take it easier in my old age and I don’t need to make 100 G’s a year to make it. I can live off half that and have way more time off and if Walmart can offer that I am interested.

I understand that but if Walmart or any other company needs drivers as bad as they claim they should be more accommodating. Think of the pool of drivers any company would be able to wrangle in with more schedule flexibility.

thats not how it works here. everything is a bidded once a year. yea you mite get lucky when hired to get a 5/5. but then on next bid some body can bid you out of that job. happens every year. but more then likey your hired on as extra 5 day a week driver until you can bid on a open.
