Well it has finally started

I did speak to someone at YRC because they have a terminal a mile or so away from my house. Unfortunately there is nothing open out of that terminal

 

I looked at inman. They are a team only operation. Not interested in teams. I will look at the others. Thanks as always

 

I drove over to the YRC terminal. They said they had nothing but gave me the number to the regional recruiter. I talked to her and they pretty much have something all over NC BUT at the terminal here. She said just set up an alert on the website for new job postings in my area.

 

I have also talked to howard. They offer company paid health insurance

 

I talked to Cypress again today. Their health benefits leave a lot to be desired. Im about 66 miles from their Wilmington terminal so thats a plus. Here is what the recruiter tells me....

Orientation is 5 days and at their Jacksonville FL terminal. Pay for the orientation is $100 a day. Lodging is at a quality Inn and is Double occupancy. If you want your own room you split the cost and pay $30 a night. Stay at a Quality Inn. He was not sure if meals where included but he thought they gave an additional $20 a day to eat. He was going to look into it. Said they would provide a rental car from my home to orientation .

While with a trainer you are paid $100 a day( $500 a week) but as I understood it might increase weekly.

After training you get your own truck. He said the trucks do have APU. You are then paid .50cpm loaded or empty and average around 2000 miles a week. He stated 90% of loads are pre-tarped. This account runs SC, NC, VA, TN, PA and you are home weekly.

As I mentioned the health insurance is not great. Its one of these odd Aetna plans . If anyone can make any sense out of the plans for me it would be great. LOL
