I always remember it is allowed to pass on the right if it is safe to do so. Tho that 4 wheeler was impatient.

I'm so old, I remember when the city/county/state would actually paint lines on the roadways. And that paint was reflective at night so you could see it lit up. That way, everyone knew what was expected of them as a driver. No guessing.

And in those days, you would DEFINITELY get a ticket for passing anyone on the right if a cop saw it. 2 lane, 4 lane, or 20 lanes. Didn't matter. You didn't pass on the right, period. Wasn't considered safe.

These days, anything goes. If you pull a boner, point your finger, and then sue. F'ng people.

If the driver was turning left(and it looks like it from the video) he/she was more than likely doing a “J hook” so there would be clearance to get around the box truck that was about to come out and turn right.

Or it’s possible the driver was attempting to pull to the shoulder to see if he/she was at the right location to turn in. Sometimes it’s necessary to pull to the shoulder and park to make sure you don’t overshoot a pickup/delivery location.

That was a two lane road (one lane in each direction) made wide intentionally for commercial vehicle traffic. And sometimes you have to swing it wide to get the truck in/out of loading areas.

Either way,the 4 wheeler was in the truck’s blind spot(near the pivot point).

If there is a curb there is no shoulder. Shoulders are on the “highway” and are both paved and unpaved.

If was turning left and needed room he should’ve took that room earlier. He clearly moved to the right without looking. That dash cam kinda favours the impatient 4 wheeler IMO

    1) Can we take a moment to appreciate that the company actually paid attention to what's going on in the mirror? Honestly a kinda rare trait from what I've gathered

    2) Let's evaluate what's going on, here... we got a straight truck coming out of side road, and an impatient 4 wheeler behind the cammer. We don't know whether the cammer is trying to turn down that road and is creating additional space so their trailer doesn't take out the straight truck's hood, or if the cammer is anticipating that the straight truck isn't gonna stop and is trying to create space to mitigate a potential collision. Either way, the 4 wheeler, who was likely right there up the cammer's ### end and couldn't see what's going on, decides "#### this, I'm going around the the truck" and dips up the right, ultimately causing a wreck when the cammer veers to the right. Either way, I really don't see this being the cammer's fault, but rather the 4 wheeler's...

I think the trucker should have slowed down a little sooner than he did, just in case the box truck turned left. He was going to need all the room to make the turn easily, I don't know where the car was trying to pass, that road is not made for passing at all. I think the car is in the wrong definitely .
