Anyone driving an x15 565? I’m looking at one currently, what kind of problems will I run into? It has 190k miles.

What year? I have 2 and both aren’t the same. I have a 2018 that runs like a raped ape. 270k and counting. No major problems. Oils and filters changed at 10k.

then there’s the 2016 I just purchased… 310k and dead. Have only hear say about the maintenance being prestige and always routine. Got it and threw some codes. Had sensors changed and the trans oil cooler cracked and let water in. Changed that out and a piece of the turbo got sucked into the motor fully coating the def filter with oil. So I’m basically changing everything on the right side of the engine at the moment. Truck has only billed 3 days of work so far. Down 1 month.

I’ve driven other x15 565 trucks mostly in dump truck or end dumps. And they have all the power you’ll ever need. Next to the 605, not much comparison. I like X15 series motors. Any truck I buy/build will always have it. Dealers and parts everywhere. Minus the whole backlog/order going on

Hey man how’s it going, read your reply, it’s exactly a 2018 x15 with 565 on 3.70s. By the “raped aped” comment I’m assuming it runs great lol! I currently drive a 379 Pete with a 3406b 10 speed with 4”3.90s, very slow and weak but I love it because 0 problems in two years. Bought it with no paperwork. Straight winnings with that truck. So the x15 is gonna be new to me

Is your 2016 an ISX or X15? I thought the X15 came out later than 2016 but could be wrong

It’s the first of the X15 series. I can’t put the blame all on the engine itself. I don’t know the true history of the owner previous as it was on consignment. Truck is being picked up today with a 11,000$ bill, which the dealership I bought it from has agreed to put up half since it was a cash buy. Let’s hope she’s been saved from the dark. I’ve had 08 isx’s all the way to these new X15s and they are great motors with a good maintenance program and honest drivers. Drivers who know a minor problem before it’s a major problem.

No way a 2016 has an x15 in it. The 2018 yes but the 2016 has to be an ISX.

You stand correct. I don’t know why I’ve been thinking the engine was an X15. I haven’t own/drove the truck long enough since buying it rather actually looking at the engine.
I’ll retract my opinions on the 2016 isx but the X15 still runs like a champ.
Off topic the 2016 now runs like a champ. Time for it to make its repairs back.
