2 guys for one truck usually means HEAVY loads of flour and such, to the stores that do the donut making.
could also mean that half way thru the run, you switch out. must be long runs. McLane out of NH, comes all the way down from there, to here in RI for several deliveries at gas stations/convenience stores, each day......so be ready for long days (or night's)

Most likely what will happen is the 1st driver drives til he's out of hours and then the 2nd guy takes over. But don't be fooled both of you will hump the freight every stop. Gonna suck if it's a day cab Lol. At least we ran sleepers so one of us could always lay down on the way there and in between stops
Our team runs avg'd 20-26 hours depending on traffic and how the warehouse goons loaded the wagonSlim51 Thanks this. -
The runs average 13.5 hrs. They cover between southern maine and northern maine which is a big area. And from what I’ve been told, yes both guys absolutely unload. One guy drives 2 of the days, the other drives the other two.
They had filled the position but thought they’d have one opening up soon. Like I mentioned before, two guys in one truck every day is a major turn off. But making good money on a 4 day week is hard to beat. Pointless if you can’t stand the job though lol.
I’ve put an app in with US foods and will with Sysco as well. Probably this weekend. I think those two jobs would be more enjoyable- more variety, alone, possibility of moving away from route delivery in the future, etc. -
i'll have no part of it, lumping that crap down a ramp, up a step or two, lift gates, small parking lots, street deliveries, etc.
the money i made doing dedicated, nightly, not too much traffic, empty parking lots, empty loading docks, was well worth the sanity.Northeast Hillbilly, Speed_Drums and Slim51 Thank this. -
To me, foodservice seems like a good fit for what I’m after- money, home every day, early am start, physical labor, good benefits.
maybe I’ll hate it, wouldn’t be the first time I thought I was on to something only to fall flat on my face hahah.Northeast Hillbilly and jmz Thank this. -
I just started thinking about p&d after constantly seeing everyone talk about how foodservice left them with permanent aches and pains. I love skiing and need my knees and joints in tact as long as possible hahah. I’ll do alittle snooping around for info on it, but may end up starting a new post with questions about p&d specifically.
Is that what you do? If so, how’s the pay? Probably not as good as linehaul I take it? Hours? -
