YRC/Yellow probably put you through their training and give you a local job, but the nearest terminal is in San Bernardino.

If there’s a Pilot or Love’s near you, they likely need drivers bad and will consider you.

Fuel drivers are in demand. No fuel shortage but definitely a driver shortage. My company would work me 6 days a week if I want. Fuel is easy once you get the hang of it. On the other hand you’ll be sweating all day, the job is physical and requires a little bit of labor . I do 3 to 5 loads a shift but couldn’t imagine going back to dry van or doing anything else.

    Ke6gwf and HiramKingWilliams Thank this.

Not everyone is saying that, just a few people who aren't keeping up with what's going on.
Case in point...at the beginning of fire season there were problems getting enough JetA to the firebomber bases. So yeah, maybe there was a shortage...for about three days. It was really more of a logistical snafu than an actual shortage. Nobody ran out, no fire bombers were grounded for lack of fuel. The refineries ramped up their JetA production, the trucking companies put on a few extra drivers, and the people ordering and planning the loads sharpened up their procedures.
Where I spend a lot of my time our fuel comes in by barge from the Bay Area. If the bar is rough and the tug can't get the barge in or out things might get a little tight supply wise but we've very seldom run out or had to resort to rationing.
