07 isx leaking oil from rear

Hi professional thank you very much for those details, they are life saver. You were right there are holes but no filter after changing the blowby tube leakage has gone away but it drips few drops from blowby tube that's the only issue for now injectors are fine, next step told by mechanic to take oil samples and get them checked.

If your oil leak is along the red in these drawings, your flywheel housing gasket is leaking. No small job. You have to drop the tranny, pull the flywheel, remove the oil pan, (use blocks and jack(s), unless you have a crane to support the engine), because you then have to remove the flywheel housing and your rear motor mounts attach to it. Expect in the neighborhood of 20-25hrs labor.

If your oil leak is at the red marks here, these are the rear cam covers.
If your oil leak is the little plugs circled in green, these are the oil cross drilling plugs.
If it's the blue line, that can be either flywheel housing gasket, or head gasket. Rarely head gasket, and most likely f/w housing. Head gasket is predominantly coolant instead of oil.

Based on the year of your truck, my money is on flywheel housing gasket. Do the rear main crank seal at the same time, you're there anyway. The f/w housing is cast aluminum, and the block is of course cast iron so they expand and contract at different rates and they also flex at different rates and this is where the torque differential is highest. The engine is trying to rotate and the motor mounts are trying to stop it.

These pictures were very helpful bought Volvo 2015 670 I shift it's only been 2 months and my bell housing gasket gone bad then I have to change the clutch too. I hope it's going to solve..my mileage on truck is 518000..

Did you find out where is coming from? i have the same oil leak.

Rear main seal probably that stays between engine and the transmission. If it’s not that bad you can drive for sometime if money are issue, but make sure u check the oil dialy since they can get bad in no time also. While u there is good to have replace your clutch and idk if it’s volvo but if it is while there is good to replace also the both motor mounts.

I have a 2016 680 with the 2013 model isx13. I have an oil leak in the rear of my engine. It's more on the right side,leaking down a little to the right of center,just behind oil pan.Looks like its under the trans. It's 2 distinct drips in a parallel line, not side by side. I thought it might be the rear main seal. I've also got oil gathered on the top of the bellhousing. I can see it clearly just below where the egr cooler wraps around the rear of the engine. Any help is appreciated.
