Hey there RedWave -
Man, I really appreciate that. Generally as a rule of thumb, although the ex-wife would argue this, I try to treat others the way I would want to be treated and I think that animosity has no positive affect on a training experience, no matter what is being taught.
And if you do ever decide to come out of retirement and become a Big Truck Truck Driver, give me a holler.... I would be glad to teach you what I know.

Man what a morning. The roads were so bad back by the yard, we couldnt even get up the road to get to the highway. And the only way out? Back up about 1000 yards to the driveway of the company. Finally got out at 10 am and then had to fight our way onto the highway on an onramp that was not "ready" for Big Truck travel. But we made it and headed to SC.
Got down to the shipper and my student, Marty, backed the truck in. He hit it on the second shot. Granted, I was out in the lot telling him to go left and right, but he was still the one that did it ..... I was so proud of him. Being that we were going to have to run through Atlanta in 5pm traffic, I took the wheel back and we shot through town. Now we are shut down halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga. Tomorrow, Marty is going to do the driving (which will include Monteagle westbound).
I think I got me a good'un

Well, Marty just met Monteagle. Or should I say Monteagle met him. A little apprehensive at first, but we made it to the top and down the other side without any death of destruction. Immediately thereafter, he got to do his first weigh station.
I'll tell you what.... this guy has potential. Certainly he is making the same mistakes every new driver is going to make. The difference is that his recovery skills are very good, and he follows instruction to the letter. I am quite comfortable with his driving..... Off to KC!!!!

Well MR. Trainer. It sounds like you have things under control.? Well as I text you I'm already shut down in Morris IL. waiting to drop monday am. Only some light fluffy flakes every now and then but all in all looks good. got a call from jack he's in council bluffs. sombody had a big boo boo. They cliped another truck there! I also saw a truck take the corner in joplin flying j a littttle to sharp this morning and wond up on the rocks at the entrance. What a mess nobody could get in or out for about a half hour after the hook got there!! So what does all this mean to you, your trainee and your fellow readers?? Please Please Please Look BEFORE< DURING< & AFTER your turns!! I know I taught you well and you will teach your new student. Just a BIG friendly reminder.
ScooterDawg Thanks this. -
