Peterbilt gurus…. I’m in the process of getting a couple heavy haul trucks built.
They are going to be full heavy spec trucks, 46k rears, 20k front, double frame, 20k pusher, 604 X15……. My question is should I get a set forward or setback from axle….
This truck will be used for NGL hauling on 50%/50% highways dirt roads, water work in the oilfield and eventually heavy haul on the highway.
( I know a lot of paths but diversity is what I do )
Help?

What is pin setting on the trailers you pull? You think you will get 20k on steer axle?

Set back axle would probably be easier to get a full 20k on not to mention shorter wheelbase and easier maneuvering around skinny roads and tight job sites. @TripleSix might have some more insights as well. The spread on the drives and pusher gonna be the standard 9’ or is it gonna be wider? What wheelbase you looking at and any sleeper?

54” rear axel spacing / same for pusher
80” sleeper
Roughly 280” wheelbase
