Went to Miller Coors today. The geniuses who loaded it, when they inflated the airbag, it pushed the beer against the side of the trailer so I couldn't get load straps on it. I asked them to move it away from the side and they told me "If we deflate the airbag, you have to sign a waiver taking liability." Of course I refused. My company wouldn't say they would take responsibility.

So, now using load locks is my only option. The one time I used one, it fell off before I reached the consignee. I would think this would potentially be worse than deflating the airbag a little and using load straps. Any suggestions?

All I can say is F Miller Coors sideways.

What I do is place one end up against freight and the other about 4-6” away, then latch load lock, then use another to bang both ends tight to the freight.
You can also put a load lock up, then place another directly below and latch it. Be ready to catch the first one.

Looks like another happy beer hauler. Not sure the issue, as I've hauled a lot of beer to the rail,( and picked up beer loads that came in off the rail), and they never moved with an air bag with NO load bars. I'd have put the load bar on the nearest slot to the last pallets, maybe 2 empty pallets on end and a bar and go.
And for the record, I'm from Milwaukee,( and I ought to know) and Miller shipped a lot of beer, trust me.

Why not just use the first available e track slot. Is most van freight not loaded agains one wall? I’m not a box jockey.

Former box jockey turned tanker yanker here.

When you use straps in a box, they need to put tension on the load to keep in from moving. They work best when used in a “V” shape.

And no, it needs to be loaded evenly throughout.

That load probably has the pallets against both walls with air bags down the middle. I've dealt with it before. E tracks are blocked. I would usually put a load bar about a foot back from the load, then put a ratchet strap I the next available e channel and suck the trailer sides right against the load bar. Worked well. A dry van has too much flex in the walls for load bars alone. I have always used the combination of the two.

Cut the sewn on end off your e track straps and make it 2 pieces , melt the cut end so it dosent fray , hook your snaps BEFORE they set the pallet in place.
I wonder how long a airbag takes to decompose in the land fill.
