I pay 150.00 a month and they handle all tax calculations, tax payments, take care of all filings, handle my payroll account, and provide a quarterly financial statement. I don't do anything but send them receipts and pay additional filing fees as they come up.

You can save money doing things yourself but these people are professionals and are capable of saving you more with their in depth knowledge of tax code. And it's convenient that I don't have to do a thing. All things payroll or tax related are on auto pilot.

It is like most things. I could go to all the trouble of having my own dairy cows and having actually a more healthy milk supply for me and the wife, but it is a lot more convenient and cost effective for me to stop in at that local store and pick it up. I have enough on my plate with all I have to do that I really don't want to play around with monthly employee payroll tax withholding reporting and filing. And filing both personal and business returns is not something I want to get bogged down in. Sure, it wouldn't be that big of a deal if sole proprietor or LLC taxed as a sole proprietor, but then, I would have the nice tax structure that saves me many times more than it costs to be an LLC that has a S corp tax structure.

I am happy to point you in the direction of a qualified accountant, I used to work for one of the bigger truck tax firms and now own my own firm.

$400. I do the book keeping and give him sum totals of everything.

He looks up the various per diem allowances from a calender I give him with my locations where I spent the night.

it’s a small accounting office near where I live. Not a big nationwide place. They weren’t familiar with trucking. I sent them stuff covering some of the specifics. The accountant I have is also an EA. He did some research and everything has been smooth. The first couple months he thought I was just making stuff up. I have 3 trucks now. We negotiated a new contract for the extra work. I pay 450 a month now, but that also includes my end of year taxes.

I find it funny when people ask why are you spending all this money on tax services? Well it is tax deductible so you're really not spending a lot of money...
