Any one know about this…? Seems you can buy a 22 model truck yank the engine out and as long as you replace it with a pre 2002 (I think ) it’s legal…?
Then you just sell the pos engine you took out……
How else are they advertising this one ……
Loop hole in glider law ?

If it were that simple glider prices shouldn't be so stupid should they? One of my friends called on one like that a few months ago, sounded to me like they're retitled as salvage or rebuilt trucks.

I heard you can order a replacement chassis for one that has been wrecked, I have no idea, I don’t roll with that money crowd.

I know certain old cars, like 55 to 57 Chevy's you used to be able to buy every single part needed to literally build a complete one from scratch. However, to make it legal, somehow you have to find an original VIN plate. So, with nothing but a VIN plate from an original car, you could have yourself a brand new sweet ride. This was back in the 90's, so unsure if that still holds true today. But, I thought it was a cool idea. My only problem was I'm a Buick guy and the parts needed to build an old Buick from scratch aren't available like they were from Chevys!
BTW, the thing with the VIN plate is because if you built one from scratch, without a VIN plate, it was considered a new vehicle and would be required to meet the safety and emissions standards of the current year you were trying to make it legal. With a VIN plate, you haven't built a new car, you've restored an old one and only subject to the safety and emissions standards to the year it was built.Last edited: Jul 29, 2021

I saw that same post on truck paper last night and wondered how they are doing it. Has to be retitled somehow
-
There are some people I think that will swap engines and sell those trucks and it's on you if you drive it.
The only way that I'm aware that you can change the title is by swapping cabs and making it a reconstructed vehicle. If it had a salvage title it may be possible to do the same thing because in the end I believe that is also reconstructed. -
I would worry about the green new deal, there is going to be a lot of push to get the non-emission trucks off the road nation wide. With this administration and congress, it is not just possible, but probable
