I give up. Got 4 bolts off, 8 to go. Coming back tomorrow with my generator and angle grinder., cut off wheel. Probably should have taken it to a Shop. Real PITA.

 

Invest in a smoke wrench... Best, and probably most used, tool I own... For those not familiar with the above mentioned smoke wrench, here is a pic...

 

That’s exactly what I need. Got the oxygen tank. Need the cutting torches. And acetalyne

 

In the hands of a competent operator the savings in labor alone is worth the initial purchase price.

I can cut a pressed on bearing race off a precision machined shaft and never heat the shaft much over that of a very hot steel cup of coffee... Takes maybe 20 seconds, 30 seconds if its an especially large bearing.

Rusty bolts and huck rivets are a cake walk.

 

Made me think of Kool trucking which was a division of Knight. Key word WAS -- guess they are all but gone now with the Swift/Knight shake up.

 

Good money, exempt logs and all drop and hook. I said id never pull a reefer for any amount of money. Im a sucker what can i say
