I used 4” pvc drainage pipe for my chains in my headache rack. Works great with my ratchet binders stored above on a rack. View attachment 378989

1- The chains are NOT going to stay in the rubber tubs. They're going to bounce around and move to whatever location they want to be in and then they're going to keep bouncing until your box breaks. Every time you go to use them, you'll try to figure out why 2 chains are in 1 tub, and who the heck tied them in knots.
2- The binders are going to make their mission to hook to the chains that are bouncing around. They'll successfully find a place to secure to your door latches to other heavy objects, making opening your box next to impossible. That is, unless they decide to just break your latches and kick all your stuff out while going through a construction zone with jersey barriers on both sides. (Not me, but a co-worker)

I only carry 2 things in my trailer boxes now. Pipe stakes and tarps, and I'm still looking for a better place to put the pipe stakes...

I got the idea for the tubs from a pic that was posted on here.I’m actually still debating how I’m going to store everything because it seems like I have too much stuff in there.I might just put the straps on the winches even though I don’t like to do it that way.

Straps in milk crates under bunk in that side door an option? (Dunno if you have a side door)

Pic of channel on bottom, thats welded, but i probable would have bolted other direction, that box came to mr that way

That's good #### right there.

I'm kinda the same. Tarps, straps, coild racks and some other light duty stuff. Everything else goes in the headache rack or dunnage tray.

The best I have gotten it so far.Put the chains at the rear as was suggested.Binders will probably move forward some so I’m hoping the metal binders stop some of that movement.If not I’ll put a piece of plywood in front of them.Edge protectors and 2” straps I put in the bunk boxes.
