Was on my 10 hour break then being asked by emergency personnel to move. Literally took 3 mins. Which of course reset my 10 consecutive hour break for a 14 hour restart. Do I have to restart the clock or can I pick up from where I left off? I am new to this and need help.

IF your log has pc then that is what you should have used...

You may be able to do a split depending on how long you were parked before the move

Just plop on sleeper berth, as long as it was between 2/3 hrs or 7/8 going back to sleeper for the rest of the time, itll only have stolen 3 min from your 14, if it was at say the 5 hr mark, youll have to take another 7 hrs

Let’s say I started the break at 10:30 and was told to move at 3:30. Do I turn on the sleeper from 10:30 to 3:30 back on? Thank you for helping

The 1st 5hrs (sleeper or off duty doesn't matter) count as the 3hr part of a 3/7 split.... you will need to log from AFTER the move 7hrs in the sleeper to finish the split

Sleeper must be used for the longer 7+ hr break, so no need but i tend to log almost all off duty time when im with the truck as sleeper to eliminate the worry

    Snailexpress Thanks this.

I will use this advice thank you. If I would driver after my initial 10 hour break was up. Instead of waiting 12 (5 hour then 7 hour split). Will they still consider it a violation.

Do this create a 12 (5hour before the move plus the 7 hour after to complete the split) hour break instead of the initial 10

The MOVE forces you to do the split or take a full 10 after the move

    Dieselboss Thanks this.
