Sitting at the TA in Dallas, saw fire truck go by. Look out window, trucks on fire. Aftermath below.
So, what makes a truck burn up starting in the engine bay? The sleeper and cab weren't damaged much at all...

A starter solenoid can stick and cause an electrical fire real quick. A few years ago International had a problem with electrical fires related to the way the starter and cab wireing was designed. Several burnt to the ground just sitting. I think a recall fixed that problem.
Most fires while sitting I think are electrical, unless it is a friction fire. That is a fire started from intense heat created by the friction of high payments and no money rubbing aganist an insurance policy.Beechvtail and Infosaur Thank this. -

Local company had a broker whose truck burnt. Started in the engine compartment while he was sleeping. They suspect fuel line. Was a really nice pete. Driver was ok.
