Volvo D16 535 hp. economy ??? where

    I have 2006 Volvo with D16 535 hp , fuel economy is terrible , they promise me ; that will change , odometer reading 46.000 km. Is anybody have similar problem ?

    The Volvo I drove for a few years had a Cummins N14. I got poor fuel mileage for the first 70,000 miles. After that, it got much better. Ended up getting just over 7 miles per gallon....although I have no idea what that translates into in metric.

    That engine's not even broken in. It's a given that a new truck (or new engine) will return poor MPG figures until the engine is broken in.

    46000 km is about 28 thousand miles.Sounds like almost brand new truck.

    Have the engine valve adjust checked, also, have the whole CAC system checked for leaks. Make sure there are no fault codes stored in the EECU, depending on the code, the truck will most likely go into a derate condition reducing power.
