People have hated being behind a dump truck since the beginning of dirt itself. What many don't realize, is they encounter that truck only for a short time, but that truck had been over that route 15 times,,so far, it's incredibly boring. "Burning circles", it's called, and it has it's pluses and minuses. They are generally overloaded and have poor maintenance. Since their local operation, they rarely are inspected. It used to be, dump trucks were operated by "working" alcoholics and drug users. It's a lonely, repetitive job. If they don't drink on the job, you can bet where their 4 wheeler will be parked at 3:35pm. More than once, I saw beer cans fall out of an opening door of a dump truck. With testing today, I think it's more these drivers are just pixxed off, or distracted by their phones, even though prohibited, they still use them, it's a boredom killer and are prone to make more mistakes. My advice? Get away from a dump truck as soon as you can,,,,

I've noticed they're ALWAYS hugging the center line on a two lane road. Seems to be even worse if they have a Peterbilt for some reason

sometimes I get payed by the ton. You would drive like an a-hole also to meet your 1000 dollar personal qouta for the day. not bad for being at the quarry at 630am and truck parked back in the barn at 330. If on hourly jobs only make a measly 800 bucks for the 8 hour day. I dont know what companie drivers make but they only get percentage on the ton. Dump trucking is big money . Im on hourly now for next couple months and on a job where i fill up my tank once every 8 days. Take sat and sunday off by choice. You otr guys i wont understand. bust your ### driving all day and night away from home, fighting with dot and etc. For what? a couple of bucks?
5500 bucks for 3 million dollar insurance as well operating in state.

It's the 10 wheelers in jersey that drive like a-holes. They act like they're in a 4 wheeler, cut you off at the last second so they can whip off their exit on the highway. Most of the regular semi's drive like a professional
