Yeah.. I can see that... totally sucks...
I like to walk in the bushes n sticks, among trees and wild nature.. have done quite a lot of that in Brasil... but my only encounter with a snake was one night... beautiful full moon... I was alone, walking through the woods to get to this beautiful place, called Calhetas in the state of Pernambuco. I got out of the woods and got to an area of rocks... all the sudden I heard a rattle on the ground near my feet... I didn't scream... but immediately jumped and ran as fast as I could... Didn't see what that was but I bet it was a rattlesnake...
Another time... also at night, a guy friend n I were walking in the woods... suddenly we heard something pretty heavy falling from a tree. It was too dark m we didn't have flashlights... we were just "adventurers" We immediately stopped n stayed still... we heard strong n heavy breathing... No idea what that would be... an animal? A person? Then, we both saw a shiny red dot, as a lazer dot a little ahead in front of us... I started walking in the direction of the red dot... he asked me what I thought that was n I said that I had no idea... So then, we decided that was very weird and we needed to get out of there... And I started walking backwards.. very very s-l-o-w-l-y.... always looking at the red shiny dot.... until we were both far away...
Wild crazy old old times...

 

Yup, I'll wager that when he was a kid, folks referred to him as "a child with a very active imagination."

Road trip?

 

Nothing planned. Just gonna purposely plan to ride more.

 

Had a really good friend invite me on a road trip in June. Thing is, I can’t run the long trips anymore. Took a ride out to Tombstone and either ended up severely dehydrated or heat stroked. I can’t take the summer heat anymore. Not on a long trip.

This friend was getting married and he and his entire family was road tripping. Can’t do it hand. For me, it’s lethal.

My buddy got married July 4. His wife called me July 22 and told me that he had passed. Age 54. I am going to have to figure out how I can once again be able to withstand summer heat. I regret not riding with my buddy on what turned out to be his last ride.

 

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
