Milwaukee are making some excellent battery impacts. Lots of torque. Enough torque for just about any job on your truck/tractor. If your gonna invest on a compressor, I would think about it before your do. So your research. All my power tools are at the moment and served me well. But I’ve been looking at the new line of battery power tools. Goodluck

I use a 1/2 battery Milwaukee it takes the nuts off , doesn’t over torque going back on lubricated. I use a torque wrench anyway. Never use a impact to hammer the nuts back on. Stretches the studs and destroys the elasticity and clamping force of studs. I know some of you think tighter is better. But it leads to stress cracks in the studs. Ever seen what a set of duals does to another vehicle after some monkey with a 1” impact gets done.
If fastener doesn’t turn before the torque wrench yields you’ve got over torqued fasteners.feldsforever, gentleroger, shatteredsquare and 2 others Thank this. -
The 2nd tank I use for more volume and I have the larger 1" hose to feed the impact wrench. It takes a couple times for the compressor to maximum pressure.
I can usually spin the lug nuts off around 175psi. depends if I had repairs done on the road at a shop that doesn't use a torque wrench to finish lug tightening.
Bean Jr., Rideandrepair and nikmirbre Thank this. -
Milwaukee Impact will do the job easily......

Since I already had the air driven equipment it was cheaper to replace the compressor.
If I was starting fresh with no tools, I probably would buy the battery impact.D.Tibbitt, JoeyJunk, Diesel Dave and 4 others Thank this. -
BTW......Now thats a freight liner in that picture!!!!
