Yes, scandinavians lived in norway/sweden/finland before grocery stores too, gimme a real arguement to back your claim

The initial blast was 7 megatons which is pretty small. The largest nuke ever set off was the tsar Bomba at 50 megatons.
-
"Thermal energy released during the eruption was equal to 26 megatons of TNT.[7]"
Thats thermal only....
"Since a nuclear explosive rated at one megaton releases about 4.2 X 1015 joules, the Mount St. Helens eruption was equivalent to a 400-megaton explo sion, one nearly eight times more power ful than that of the largest nuclear device ever detonated."
.....
I rest my case, helens wasnt tiny, but it wasnt a very large one either on a geological timelinew9l, okiedokie, Stray_Dog and 1 other person Thank this. -
Exactly. It's why there are scientists that debunk Man made global warming. The planet is heating and cooling regardless of us. Does man contribute. Sure. But volcanoes and Forrest fires, both which happen naturally, contribute and can't be controlled.
Also the change they noted. Is over the last 150 years of a 1000 year time frame. Not just 10 years.Northern Nomad Thanks this. -
I'm almost 50 now. I've heard everything from global warming will kill everyone in 20 years to a new ice age will kill every one in the next 20 years. Sometimes from the same science class in high school. It gets old after awhile.
I wonder if climate scientist have ever heard of the cry wolf effect. We really need them to stop saying everyone will be dead or it's not reversible or whatever scare tactic they are pushing this decade.xlsdraw, w9l and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
There seems to be different figures. I heard 7 megatons for the initial blast and that's why I specified. And the rest of it wasn't exactly a blast so I can't see how the 400 megaton figure can be compared to an explosion.

Maybe read what I said, was not referring to their homeland This was an article about them being able to live in North America, And iceland or Greenland. Because the climate had warmed up enough to grow food. After s few years the climate became colder, could not grow crops, moved back to the homeland. Not going to waste my time with verbal Ping pong.Last edited: Aug 9, 2021

In total, Mount St. Helens released 24 megatons of thermal energy, seven of which were a direct result of the blast. This is equivalent to 1,600 times the size of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.w9l Thanks this.

I suppose that's where I got the seven from. Not directly relatable to nuclear detonations but even 400 megatons is small in comparison to the total number of bombs we've tested.
