The only guarantee in life is death....
BTW, that may not have much to do with what you wrote... just crossed my mind....Lostkeys, Brettj3876, shooter19802003 and 5 others Thank this. -
20 years ago, Laredo ended at exit 3. And Texas still ran the dual speed limits. Nighttime speed limit for trucks across the entire state was 55 mph. It took 2 days for a law abiding citizen to cross 10th street. Laredo was booming. Stupid money all over. The money is still there, it’s just not coming to the truckers anymore.Lostkeys, Brettj3876, shooter19802003 and 4 others Thank this.

This is something I never worried much about... but nowadays is one of my biggest concerns.
If that ever happens, while you are sleeping, what would you do? I mean, having a weapon is not enough, one must have a plan of reaction and how to use it, from the second one wakes up with the noise of someone trying to break into the truck.... and how to handle the whole situation.
Would like to know more if you (or anybody here) don't mind sharing your experience and/or expertise.
Rough times ahead...Last edited: Aug 10, 2021

Castle breech…usually it’s going to be 2 or more for a castle breech. The solo thug will go for easier prey, you outside the castle. 2 guys, one breaks one window and his partner waits for you to stick your head out of the sleeper, then he strikes from the opposite window. Stay in the sleeper, let em come to you. Don’t speak. Silence adds to the unknown.

If you are a company driver in a bad area, roll down the landing gear and pull the 5th wheel. If you drive a box, back the doors to a dock, a wall, or another trailer. If you have to leave, leave the trailer.

I used to have only the windshield curtains closed from one window to the other. But it might be better to also have sleeper curtains closed to give me another layer of "protection" and a few more seconds to wake up and realize what is going on and get "prepared".Last edited: Aug 10, 2021
