yes its a hydro. we do alot of local work and hydros are faster to break multiple times per day
hydros dont seem popular in the commercial trailers, there arent that many to choose from
    its a 48' 40 Ton plus flip 29' well

I am about 350% convinced its a rebranded kaufman, i literally cannot find any difference

heres the specs and available options
Rampant Double Drop Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck | Rampant Trailers LLC

the options on this one are
    -18" deck height,
    -pony motor,
    -boom trough,
    -strobes,
    -outer aluminums
    -2 toolboxes
    -ride height control valve
    -apitong
    -expanded metal in bays

Kaufman and rampant are made only a few miles apart. That's awful cheap for a 40 ton hydraulic. Pony motor? I'd be afraid to break it, whatever I buy I'm gonna use to maximum allowable for my axles.

Hydraulic necks aren't popular in 35/40 ton trailers, it adds weight and cost and most guys wanna be into RGN work cheap and light. I wouldn't buy anything but a hydraulic.

yea it has a honda pony motor
agreed its a compromise, a little heavier (although this trailer is only 18,000 plus the flip) vs ease of operation
i can legal 70k on the deck i think we will see

Doesn't seem bad for a weight. I just think the extra weight of the hydraulics are worth having versus the wear and tear picking up a poor man's RGN.
