we started with 40+ and were down to 20 somethin when we took off with trainers. From what I hear, we had an unnormally large class that made that far.

It was mostly back ground checks and a few failed the DMV test, and some failed the backing, etc.

And atleast one is dropping out after being with trainer. So not sure the number of students now.

Yea, I got my first check wednesday. A whopping 350..after taxes, etc. But better than nothing.

Also, don't forget your SS card. If any medical conditions, have doctor sign you off as good to drive and bring that.

Your first day there, it might seem crazy. Alot going on. Some instructors seem to be in a bad mood that day. But every day it gets better. Every single instructor there seems to be very good at what they do.

Some students ask too many questions, and get on their bad side. The instructors will cover everything. Not much need to ask anything at first. Just wait it out a while and the answers will come.

    Hope this helps

To linebacker51, I have received an Email from Cental Refrigeated to give them a call. I am a july 2009 graduate of Chippewa Valley tech. in Wisconsin. I have the Class A CDL. with hazmat, tanker, and doubles/triples endorsements. It was an eight week course with skid pad and emergency avoidance training. I was wondering would I have to go to their school or just take a refresher course. I would like to just go out with a trainer if possible. I also noticed you said some failed the backgroung check. I have a misdomeonor drug charge from thirteen years ago. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I know it's not a place that would be easy for truckers to enter, but they go by on I-64 MAYBE THEY ARE STOPPED IN THE AREA OR STAYING OVERNITE AT ONE OF THE MOTELS...ANYWAY they have alot of good burger places like Botlyn Heights and the white spot dinner but you have to go into town also pizza is great here there is a place in Crozet about three miles from C'ville that is suppose to have the best pizza in the US but I think so far the best pizza in in C'ville at the Mellow Mushroom. Also most forgot to tell you the name of the town it's Charlettesville Virginia but its kool name in C'ville like Seville Italy

Hey there.. I didn't catch ur name there.. But the fellow who was askin bout my class and opinion..

We started with 49.. The drug test and background check.. Killed off about 8. The dmv got about 3 and backing kicked off bout 6.

There's me and 4 or 5 people from my class left.. I've got in about 6 1/2 months... I can tell you that u need to be very tolerant of stupidity.. A lot of the situations crs puts you in.. Can be avoided if they would pay attention...

If you get lucky like me.. Start with an ok dm.. Stay accident free.. At 3 months.. Go on state dedicated runs.. It keeps you from nyc and the far east coast.

My dm now is great.. He let's me do what I please AS long as I'm gettin the job done right.. Plus I like my w9.. So likein ur truck and it being in good shape helps that pay a lot.

So I'm sitting in historic Clanton, AL getting unloaded and get a preset to NC, then A few minutes later I get a preset to PA. WTH? Call my FM and he says forget about those, looks like they were cancelled. So I head to the nearest truckstop, not to big, not to small, and find my rose colored glasses. Then I get a preset to Conley to p/u a preloaded trailer and deliver 5mi away! Call my FM and he says it looks like nobody is available to deliver it... okay.....

So I haul my backload of sailboat fuel to Conley, drivers in bobtails everywhere! Arghhhh! Cowards.

So now I sit at this screwed up Kroger warehouse swapping out this nestle load for some chilled sailboat fuel. I think I misplaced those glasses again.
