The Cummins 12 liter is the worst. No access to any barring location. Theres a 3/4 square on the front of the crank but the fan blade is too close to even get a ratchet in there. We see alot of gas engines and the compression is light enough we just turn the fan blade by hand and do the adjustment backward from procedure. CBA.
Since you brought up yellow engines, the long nose is fine. How bout that #6 on a 387 or a t2000? Just sucks.....IMO

Had some dump, fertilizer and lime trucks I worked on quite a bit for a neighbor. They were all of the curb sniffer variety and a pita to do much of anything on. He got rid of them so it is pretty well hoods around my shop these days. I barely have time to work on my own these days...
You just have to bar the Isx common rails 2 complete turns. Maybe 3 if you want to do cyl 1 first. Even with the stupid high compression my 4ft handle 3/4" drive ratchet with 2 2"extensions on it is faster than barring my Cats. I have to use wobble joint and long extension on long 1/2" flex head ratchet to get anywhere with that in a timely fashion.... all that said, I will still take my ancient dinosaur yellow motor over this red one anyday. Especially the bottom line.God prefers Diesels, Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this. -
Thanks for jinxing me guys, setting overhead on CM2350 this morning. By time I pulled these couple pipes off,I would of been 1/3 way done on a MX! Does bar easier than CM870/871's.

Many thanks as we did not get the brunt by any means. Have power at the house but was out for a full day. Many others are still without since Wednesday. Had Thursday off and worked by generators and flashlights on Friday.
So many dependent and not prepared. You must always have a plan and be prepared to get by without.black_dog106, God prefers Diesels, w9l and 1 other person Thank this. -

Have been looking into getting Inline 6 and Insite. Just curious to how these people have been to deal with? Had been looking on ebay. Hard for me to ask questions on the "cummins" forum without getting flamed. Was thinking of buying a good used laptop with Windows 10 pro anyway , but I see they have them already loaded up. Also want to be able to work on just the Isx15 cm2250 and 2350 in the family. So which version of Insite would I need. Thx.
