I found the quality of def has been very consistent, we’ve had issues with some from large tanks where they had water introduced into the tank but overall, no real issues. Sensors however, that’s a different story.
I bought a truck cheap last year with def quality error, the owner kept draining the tank, actually drilled a hole and put a ball valve to drain it. If he took it the truck to the dealer (1.5 miles away from where he stored the truck he could have had it fixed).
My mechanic looked at the truck before I bought it and said easy fix sensor issue. He even offered to fix it for the owner with no labor charge but the guy didn’t take him up on the offer. I cut the check, had it delivered to my mechanics shop, he replaced the entire tank and all the items in the tank. Not a stick of problems since, a very dependable truck.Speed_Drums Thanks this. -

It's a common code for sensors or something.
I'm hearing even cars get it.
The one time I had it. I think both sensor and dozer got replaced. I think. It was 7 years ago and under warranty. -

Cattleman no not retiring just yet. LOL. Just might go with a true pre emission truck for awhile. I’ve never had a cat before so I might try one before I do retire.

Ridge line, if you don’t mind me asking, was it the quality sensor that was the problem? If so my 2015 579 doesn’t have one in the tank it uses both nox sensors to determine quality. I’m also getting low conversion efficiency codes that I am having a hard fixing because I can’t get parts.
